Sports in school

I am a student of No.5 Middle School in Beijing. My school is very big and beautiful. And there is a big playground near the lab. It is opened from half past 6.am to half past 6.pm almost every day except our holidays. We do sports in it all day.

At half past six in the morning, there are few students in the playground because we start lessons at half past seven; we don’t need to get school at half past six. Many students are still sleeping at that moment. We are lazy. From six fifty to seven, some students run in the playground – because their teachers ask them to do that. At seven o’clock, the students of basketball teams begin to play basketball with their drillmasters. They don’t stop playing basketball until half past seven. Then we start to have a lesson.

After having a lesson, most of the students go to the playground to have a rest. We have a rope skipping together. All of us love rope skipping. We enjoy ourselves. Some of us practise long jumping and discus throwing – We will have a physical education exam when we finish school. Boys often play basketball or football after a lesson.

At noon, a few boys don’t go home; they play basketball at school – how industrious they are!

In the afternoon, only a few students do sports. They run. Because of the weather, we are sleepy.

After school, there are a lot of students in the playground. Some of them practise long jumping, some do body mechanics, some play basketball or football, and the others run. I often run after school because I am not good at running.

In PE classes, we run a lot. Then we play basketball or practise other sports. We always play balls. At the end, we play games with our teacher. Sometimes we have spare time – girls sit on the grass and chat, boys play their favorite ball games. Before the sport-meeting, we practise the phalanx and relay.

So, as you know, school boys often enjoy doing sports especially playing balls, but most of girls don’t like doing sports – they like chatting. And most of students enjoy ball games. I think it is good for our health to do sports. So though I don’t like sports, I will try to do more sports. What about you?
